I respect that this author writes vulnerable semes. They aren't this all powerful, nobody can mess with, always on top males. I know ppl are disappointed with the seme for his reaction, but it's fucking realistic. He's originally bloodthirsty for revenge. He probably felt, once the uke was back in his arms and his brother dealt with, they could get back to before when everything was normal and love was in the air. But what did he see? The love of his life hurt beyond repair. No amount of revenge could erase the damage done and it was all his fault. This time it was his brother, the next time could easily be another enemy, that's simply how his world works. Right now, he's probably going through intense self-loathing for not being able to protect his person.
As for the uke, I know ppl are disappointed that he asked for sex almost immediately, but I find this awfully realistic as well. We know the uke had been previously assaulted as a child but bottled up his emotions/ memory. He grew numb to it. It's why when he was assaulted again, though he tried to get away, he eventually accepted his fate. That resignation is, unfortunately, common with victims who're repeatedly assaulted. The only person he could properly rely on was the seme, he's probably his only comfort in that world. So he clung to it the moment he was rescued. He wanted as much of the warmth and safety of his embrace. Yes, he asked the seme 'Why did it take so long?'...this is more indicative of his trust and dependence on the seme. But now, he probably realized that this person might not always be ther to help him. That he's not as reliable and this short embrace is merely a false way to feel safe.
This is a pivotal scene and in the following chapters I wouldn't doubt if there is a noticeable shift in their dynamics. One where both will meet each other on equal grounds. Their strengths and weaknesses explored etc etc.
I agree with what you’re saying, and I could be wrong but wasn’t it the twin brother who got assaulted as a kid? I honestly can’t remember since it’s been a while.
