Oh, come on. You guys can't give these vague spoilers on here where a lot of us haven't caught up to the current chapters in the ln. At least give me full, in depth spoilers so I'm not making up the worse-case scenario in my head and crying over nothing. Tell me what they did to Raon and the kittens.
It was when Cale got a chance to fortify and strengthen Sound of Wind (an ancient power that he will get in the future), during ancient times when the last owner of that power was desperate and slightly crazy (due to all the hardships that she went through, seeing her comrades die in front of her, etc. ), she had to leave a part of her power, an item, in an island protected by Wind Elementals. Since the last owner doesn't want a bad person get the power, she made a test that will reveal the true character of a person. In this test, it shows Cale's greatest fear, it is to survive the war alone. In this test, Cale woke up years after the wars ended, in this dream, everyone he knew died and not one of them managed to even left a body to be buried so Cale put their memorable items in a mansion (that he will own in the future). In the dream, he is the Lord of a big territory, he doesn't really have to work since he got people to do the job for him but everyone that he knew is gone. Even though Cale knew that when he's seeing are not real, that it is just a dream and a test, he could still feel how painful it is, he kept on saying "how cruel this test is".
Cale is not a very emotional type of person (usually), as much as possible he rationalize what's happening and in that test, Cale can't take it anymore and he just want to just get the F out of the test and thinking a lot on how to finish it.
(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 ugh, just remembering Cale's thoughts on that event made me sad again lol
I know right. It's so sad I bawled my eyes out from crying. It made sense that Cale wanted to have no interactions with Choi Han and the others at the beginning of the story. He doesn't want to get attached and end up being hurt when he lose a comrade. In the end he really got a whole lot of them. Kind of ironic hehehe.
Yes. Being left all alone in the past as Kim Roksoo, Cale never wanted to feel that emptiness again as soon as he transmigrated. That is why he avoids getting attached in the earlier parts of the story. But as soon as he got them under his wing he subconsciously protected them in all his might. Being left all alone is Cale/Kim Roksoo's greatest fear.
Thanks for the reply!
That does sound very sad and I'm not surprised at all that that's Cale's worse fear. Though I highly doubt it would ever come to pass since it's very clear even at the part I'm at (chapter 300ish) that Cale wouldn't let anyone lay a single finger on Raon without having to get through his mangled dead body first. Even his other people he pulls them out of any very serious danger before they can get too hurt. Cale's totally the type to sacrifice himself for his friends so he'd never live long enough to outlive them during a war.
I can’t believe i manage to catch up with the novel!!
The plot, the twist, the character dev i love them alll!!!
The part that i think the saddest was the sound of wind(?) test “ there lies three piggy bank..” omg I can’t stop sobbing if that is the future for cale
I wish ch 650 isnt the last for this masterpiece... there’s still alot of mystery the author havent brought up yet. Also when does the novel usually update (?) 618 cliffhanger is so illegal
