hmm from the couple of similar setting i've read, doors are usually unlocked and would only be locked when mc or a character does something in secret for the maids/butlers to efficiently serve them... I mean, if it's always locked the ppl would worry and get suspicious. Nobles (in stories) pretty much rely on servants for everthing that includes daily necessities and such
I don't know much about the olden times, but are maids able to enter their master's chambers as they please? Do their doors not have locks? And don't they usually have guards posted at their doors? Can someone explain, thanks.
