I was in 7th grade around 2016. I was watching a gay movie clip, I think brokeback mountain and then I can across Junjou Romantica lol. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Lol, it was the whole killing stalking fiasco for me, dropped it after a few chapters thou, it was not it for me. But then I caved in after seeing so much of Painter of the night content, and now I am officially addicted. I honestly like it quite a lot, so much to learn about relationships, especially between two men as a girl. Be it yaoi or shounen ai, it exposed me to a whole new form of expressing feeling shared between two people.

i was stressed back then in HS then there's this one girl who became my seatmate all smiley everytime she checked her phone in self study time so i ask "what's so interesting?" "oh i read this yaoi manga" "what's yaoi?" then she began explaining things but im too scaredy cat to admit i was curious to read them because homophobes country ew and rushed to my home so fast, use mangasearch and i read one with highest rates i forgot it's either sekaiichi hatsukoi / junjou romantica and then i felt the sparks of difference over the mangas that i've been read. then i read other books, learnt that yaoi isn't always with seme forcing uke (idk why the top list of yaoi were so full of that kind of tropes back then) and without realizing i've already become this deep (▰˘◡˘▰) i love and want to protect my BL babies

i realized that a lot of straight mangas are so dull that i didn't realize i'd been traped in that kind of fantasy (i hate myself wanting my own ew haha) so BLs are such a great breather for me and it's really changed my mind now in a lot of good ways! i really love when i can learn over things that i read. it's becoming my comfort in hard days now haha

hope you enjoy your own journey too!
