It's not even just this life. I reread it and I completely forgot that her first father killed her mother and then murdered her. So she NEVER had parents. I thought her character was off, when she talked to her parents. But after reading the whole thing again it's just heart breaking.

The distrust from now on, it's a wonder she hasn't completely mentally broken down yet...
IT JUST HURTS SO MUCH TO SEE THE MC GET HER "HAPPY" END WHICH IS JUST A FUTURE FILLED WITH PAIN FROM TRUST ISSUES CAUSED BY CHILDHOOD TRAUMA.
