There is NO justification for MOST MLs jerk actions, especially with excuses like that. If he was taken over by another spirit that's the ONLY justification for this jerk's abuse. It was someone else who committed them then.
There is justification for everything in stories. unless it involves rape or pushing someone towards suicide which I hate and is so fucking stupid. Other than that the author always has justification for everything, It’s to make the ml look good. That’s the reason the ml is the ml he has to look good. The whole point is for the author to want us to like them as a pair and see their love grow. Because even if we don’t they’ll still, in some way end up together. ( I’m not saying the story involves rape etc. Those where just examples but yea)

The author can find a reason justify every and anything even if we think it’s wrong. We don’t know the full story which is why we read and make theories. We don’t know what’s gonna happen next so we’re only guessing. Which is why I said that anything can be justified in a story. Because it’s the authors choice they’re the ones making up the story. What we think might be happening might not be happening. we haven’t read the full story nor do we know his side of the story. Yes it might be excuses made by the author but we don’t know yet. Hmmm my theory for ml personality change was probably because he saw something during that 13 steps at midnight thing they did. Maybe, just like how our mc travelled to the past he instead travelled to the future. Perhaps he saw something in the future related to mc, for example maybe she was dead in the future so when he returned back to his time he tried to change it? Idk, usually there is a good justification for a ml’s actions
