Nah fuck both families. Misunderstandings or not both her and Penelope went through hell because of them. No amount of sorrys is gonna fix that trauma.

I do not think she needs to clear things up with her family.. It is her family who treated her badly.. Why should she make the effort?? She is the victim.. She could forgive and forget and take her freedom but it is more realistic that she goes far away...

I almost added a "or drop them". Now I regret not adding it. Nonetheless, I do think some of the misunderstandings with her real family could be cleaned up, than a forgive and forget situation could occure where MC becomes happy with living her own, independent life.
Well, maybe clear the misunderstandings.... But seriously, her real family is also trash. I prefere more the concept of a trash and Petty family than "the cold family but the truth deep down we care but we don't know how to express our love even if you starving and living a poor life despite being rich" concept.

Agreed. Forgive and forget only so that she mentally moves on from the whole situation and isn't plagued by trauma anymore and can relax in her own life. Maybe bump into to family a few times and doesn't start hyperventilating or trembling. Move on completely.
I just realized why I like this series so much. Unlike other series with a strong MC, or a normal MC who sees these small tricks as petty and dumb. This MC has lived in this type of trama her whole life. The only difference from Penelope and her was that she doesn't lash out. Her past experiences are clearly intertwined with her actions, and she is clearly weak. It's a nice change from most of these types of books, since she can empathize with Penelope instead of sympathize. I hope she ends up back in her world and fixes her relationship with her family since it seems like similar misunderstandings were talking place
