It protects that organ from any foreign objects entering
You are born with it
And it basically explains medically that you are a virgin (in most cases)
When you are having your first time with sexual intercourse your hymen brakes
When foreign objects enter your body (through anal or vaginal) that hymen rips and bleeds
it is a flesh part of your body which has arteries and blood so it bleeds like the rest of your body when you have a cut
It usually breaks during the first time of sexual intercourse but it could possibly break during other times ( this depends on how the way your body is built)
