I've written a theory before where SH always wanted to impress his father but his father has already chosen his brother due to his "flaw"... Based on what is said 2 chaps ago. Which now I am more sure after this chapter that it is about his sexuality.
I was trying to think if it was something to do with say adhd and stuff like that... But since they brought in jiwha... I don't think so...
I agree, since the old times they always treat it as a disease when a person is liking with the same sex.
It makes so much sense!! I don't think his father abused him then! He actually was trying to "save him" from his sexual orientation and he ended up killing him from the inside with all the drugs and medication!

NK was told by the doctor a bit about SH past regrading his health, and what I think is that SH dad saw him being interested homo-erotic things like NK with his paintings.
He sent him to the doctor with bruises and said he had “a spiritual disease” specifically saying “wayward yang energy”
He also said that Jihwa had the disease as well.
So what my theory is that SH father did see him interested in homo-erotic things, also Jihwa and kept him isolated in the house all while being abusive towards him. Then when there was trouble, he gave up his son to old men to save himself, letting his child be r*ped since he was gay.
