Taku actively worked to break them up and even taunted Joowon on multiple occasions and rubbed it in his face that he was sleeping with Haesoo. Like Taku is not a good person, he manipulated Haesoo and it outwardly antagonistic towards Joowon. He doesnt deserve better, and he doesnt deserve Haesoo.

He doesn't have to do anything. It just shows how mature Joowon is by letting the person he loves go. J knows that he is not a good influence for H and that his relationship was toxic and so he respected H decision of being with Taku. Sometimes letting your lover go is the best decision for both even though they love each other, I don't think J know how much H loves him.
