they should put in subscriptions.. like you could subscribe to a mangaka and see if they updated or made something new

There is a subscription service for incomplete manga. Just click on "I am reading" or "I read" and the site will leave a notice in your mailbox when a new chapter shows up.

There is no subscription service for specific mangaka, and it's very difficult to actually search for a singular mangaka's work on this site if you aren't familiar with the name (as opposed to the style).

There is a search feature for a mangaka's works on this site, if you happen to know the title of one of that person's works. So, say I want to look up Natsume Isaku's collected works. I would first have to search for Doushiyoumo Nai Keredo, for example, and then click on the mangaka's name in the title field, which would bring up this page: http://www.mangago.zone/r/l_search/?name=natsume%20isaku. If I didn't know any of the titles she has published, and there weren't any of her works saved in my lists, I would be completely out of luck. So, even a better form of author search would be an improvement. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I just use in the mangaka's name in the search field. It is possible you'll get others with the same name, but it still works better than having to know the manga's name.

It doesn't work for me. Don't know why. It would certainly make things easier if it did.
