Do you know how much it actually takes to typset, translate and clean? Especially all by yourself? That in itself is a lot of effort. Sure it's not the best looking, they probably aren't used to it, but don't be rude to their efforts.
It may have been a bit shabby and slipshod but some people have been way too harsh on the translator. There's no reason to call it a 'complete waste of time', but I understand that this update would have been rude to previous translator. At least try to be more polite, it's not like this has been going on for multiple chapters.

That's what I'm exactly saying, they put in useless effort cuz either way it's their fault for uploading it without confirming anything first

Everyone's slamming the new translator for this update but I think that's being too unfair. While I agree that it may have been rude to pick up on a series that hasn't been dropped, it's not like the translations were completely unreadable. Yes, it may have been inaccurate or unreliable due to usage of google translate, but I'll still give credit where it's due as I'm sure the translator took time and effort to clean, translate and typeset the update to bring us this content.
