i thought cahil was the crown prince but he was forced to give away his right to the throne after his father became bedridden and the concubine took over power while trying to make sure her son has a greater chance to the throne. Or maybe I just remembered wrong

I don't know about him be crown prince or anything cause he was illegitimate and I don't know anything about his father being bedridden. It is possible that the coucubine/stepmother did try to take control so her son had a greater chance at the throne; I'd believe it.
