Yeah, I have several things that also missing was that Jing Shao actually didn't accept the edict but the emperor decided to just "fuck it, u gonna marry tomorrow, lol". And Jing Shao on their wedding night was very drunk bcs he's angry. I mean it's not as much of a big problem, but from that we knew Jing Shao's sentiment more rather than explain it in a few sentences. I mean, Jing Shao was not a jerk, he was an ambitious person, with a lot of abilities, but his dream for the throne was gone just because an edict, even after he gave so much for the kingdom. I would be mad to haha. And yea, their time together in prison was the biggest factor Jing Shao would devoted his next life to Hanzhang.
They both has similarity, and that is being abandoned. Sad, but it's true.
The only thing I find missing so far with the manga though I will still read it is that they never made it to the prison they were in and spent years in it together like it wasn't oh I'm not going to abandon you and then bam he saved him and then the prince fell in love. No, it was accumulated time spent together that made him devoted to him later on in the story. They spent every waking minute together in captivity together until Mu died in his arms and he jumped off of the cliff. That is the only problem I have is it doesn't explain why he became so devoted to him. It was just so damn quick. Am I glad for the visual? Hell yes but I still wish there was more. Honestly reading this again makes me want to go back to the novel. I just might do that now. But don't get me wrong even though I complain I'm still going to read the manga because I know I will enjoy it either way.
