Basically, there are the Sovereigns and the Rulers. They were created by the Absolute Being so they could fight amongst them through all eternity and entertain the Absolute Being. The rulers are the peaceful ones and the sovereigns are the destructive. Tired of these eternal battle, the rulers kill the absolute being but one of them doesn’t want that and rebel against them. He becomes the sovereign of darkness (and death). The sovereigns keep destroying everything. In the war against the rulers, the sovereign of darkness is one of the strongest, but he’s betrayed by the other sovereigns. The war continues, and they decide to travel dimensions and destroy earth. The rulers try to protect earth by strengthening it with mana (the magic of the gates basically). For the sovereigns and the rulers to continue their battle on earth, they have to choose human vessels. Ok now with Jin Woo. As you know, he was one of the weakest hunters and he was always facing death bravely. Bc of that the sovereign of darkness chose him. For him to know how to control the powers and eventually return as the true sovereign, the administrator (the statue of the beginning) made the System. The sovereign grows attached to Jin woo so he decides to betray the administrator and the other sovereigns so he could stop the war. To do this he becomes one with Jin Woo still maintaining Jin woo’s ego. So yeah, be prepared to an even more OP Jin Woo on the future. His father became a vessel of the rulers, and his mission is to protect Jin woo. Any questions? haha
