seme and uke are the stereotypes straight japaneses give to homosexuals. they are the japaneses version of top/bottom, aggressive/passive, man/woman stereotypes in western countries for homosexual relationships. add this explanation to the comment above that explained to the point and simple. seme "gives" it, uke "receive" it, "seke" do both.
