And don't bother to say anything like that in comments cuz you'll be the one who'll feel blamed or just speak your mind out and don't care what others say which I usually do....... I don't think rape should be normalized or used anywhere, idc if it's BL, yaoi ,straight, ect. People shouldn't be doing that.
Personally when i was younger and didn't understand the weight of rape, i didn't mind it. But the more you grow up, the more you realise how bad and scarring it is. I think in older yaoi mangas, the ones i read when i was a teen, most were dubcon, rape, non consent, sexual harassment and so forth, but lately i think rape in yaoi has decreased. Authors are probably starting to realise the weight of it too. If you search for yaoi with a lot of smut, rape is common. But nowadays i see a lot of wholesome ones, and even rlly smutty ones has consent. So maybe yaoi rape culture was a thing before, but i dont think it is anymore
And seriously i hope more authors will stop romanticising rape. If they are going to put rape in a story, it should be one that focuses on the trauma of it, so ppl will stop acting like its okay
After reading yours to claim, i noticed a lot of people were completely pushing aside the fact that yawhi raped jooin, and started telling others to wait for character development. It’s gross, but i saw many people doing it. Then i came across someone saying that ALL yaoi has rape in it, and that i have to get used to it simply because it’s yaoi. They then started calling yaoi rape culture and continuously saying how all yaoi or majority of yaoi has rape despite how many times i’ve replied with a link for yaois without rape. After that they kept talking about popular yaois, like potn and other popular shit that i can’t remember. They kept saying how they and the “yaoi community” were used to rape in yaoi and just think it’s wrong but still don’t cate just because they’re used to it. After replying to them with a long ass reply they completely made up shit and blocked me so i couldn’t reply lmaoooo. So i will ask again, is ALL yaoi rape culture?
