Well, you can't really blame them. The monsters are dangerous and they are concerned for what might happen to them. Not everyone is as understanding as the doctor, nor do they know as much about her situation as the doctor.

but coco isn't a monster she's just a little girl who missed her chance on getting that vaccination shot. so i guess it's her vision? she just doesn't get to see what the villagers are seeing
About the girl getting his hair turned white i have a guess that, maybe, due to constant exposure to Kuro or due to Kuro directly, she might be losing his "colors". Knowing that those creatures survive from taking the colors of living things.
