Yeah, I'm also so confused by those two first comments. He also said he'll do whatever he can to help her and he trust her judgement. He's not forcing anything on her, just supporting her in whatever way he can. He also says that she should return when SHE feels the time is right. Again showing that she is free to do as she pleases and he won't force anything.
I feel like he's kinda have his own idea about what IS GOOD for her when in fact she already has her plan. Hopefully, he won't do anything rashly before discussing with her first after this. For now, everything is ok.
