You just took the words out of my mouth!! I couldn't agree more. I mean, yes he has talent. But it's HIS talent. And the decision to do what with that talent should be only HIS!! Not for someone else, no matter who s/he is to him.
right, right!! It was painful to not only see his heart getting broken but him failing in tennis as well... plus his motivation for starting tennis wasn't even to become profession (nor was it and will it ever be)...
I read first brothers 2 that is actually the 2nd volume here and I made the same comment! I got really mad! Just because you are good at something it doesn't mean you want to dedicate your life to it or that you even like it! Besides tennis is such a demanding sport! You can't achieve nothing there with just talent. You have to dedicate yourself to it. It can't be half assed. So I got really angry at the Asuka for refusing to listen to Yui. He didn't take him into consideration at all.
I dislike how ppl can be sometimes. I mean not in just the manga but in real life as well. We all know that Yui has talent but if he does not have the desire to play tennis anymore... is it okay to force him? To drive him into a corner... and then watch him fall like that. I know they just want what's good for him... but they are not considering his feelings at all. Let me say this now, talent is important but motivation is equally important... after all you can only get so far with talent alone.
