I want to say a lot about all of the comments I read thus far, but I'll keep it simple. I don't think Kurose is wrong in the way he handles Shirotani. It reminds me of reopening a wrongly arranged healed over wound so that you can set it properly and have it not hurt anymore. Yeah, it'll hurt and be painful, but the final conclusion is it'll be better at the end. I honestly don't think he's treating Shiro like this because it makes him happy inside.
