We’re seeing a flashback right now when they’re in mid school. Right now it’s all happy and fluff but there’s gonna be a lot of angst in the future bc they got seperated/Jian yi got kidnapped n all that drama...

remember the early chapters where jianyi appeared at xixi's door, wearing a high school uniform from chapter 43 to 50? chapter 51 until the most recent update are just the flashbacks of what's happening in their last year at mid school before jianyi disappeared at their second day of highschool, sorry if i explained terribly. i tried.
you can see the difference in their school uniforms and they also mentioned a few times that they are middle schoolers, jianyi and xixi also planned to graduate and get into the same highschool together

the second kidnapping is when jianyi got into highschool, not really kidnapping since it's his own father, you can read the early chapters back to understand the timeline better(づ￣ ³￣)づ

The first attempted kidnapping was when Jian Yi’s Dad wanted to see him but his mom intervened. The other one was by a beggar of some sort, if I remember correctly.
This has been going on since 2015 and we’re still stuck in the flashback. Is this gonna be done 2030??
