But didn’t the woman who’s taking care of him now mention that the bags of rice are rotting as in he didn’t use them? Also there’s the implication that the guy who comes running to him about the bad news is actually coming to tell him that his daughter became a sacrifice for him without his knowledge?
So in reality he didn’t know she was going to sacrifice herself for rice nor did he want her too or expect her to so when he’s drawing pictures of her mourning her wishing her to come back he’s doing it because he feels horrible for driving her to do so for him even if he didn’t explicitly tell her to do it.
Also she mentions filial piety to the fake hero guy when he said he wanted to die, bc she was ready to die for her father so he could do the things he wanted. Everything happened bc she wanted to honor him by dying so he could essentially gain insight for the future (I think he doesn’t want necessarily eyesight but have the priest explain or give him knowledge so he could live a wiser/ prosperous future)
He so far doesn’t seem like a bad person just an idiot who cherished his daughter (who also cherished him enough to be willing to die for him) and wishes she’ll come back.
I love the story, but...are they just leaving her father there by himself with that rude lady?? I feel so bad for him ╥﹏╥
