Catholics are in fact christians unless i am misinformed??? And yes every denomination is different from presbyterian to baptist to methodist and so on and have their own set of slightly different beleifs, but isnt catholicism like one of the really biggest ones? Like some different denominations place different levels of strictness on how closely rituals have to be adhered with but they are still all part of the same faith? and yeah catholics have cathedrals and such but im pretty sure thats cause they are older and at the time were supported by the king?

No, no, no. Catholicism and Christianity may seem similar, but they are very different when you get down to it. Yes, they believe in God, but Catholics worship the saints and give more authority to priests, bishops, and the Pope than they do to God. In Christianity, God is in control and not men (unless you get some bad teachings and cultists). In the Catholic faith, they are very strict in the worst ways. For example, priests and other men in the servitude of their Church cannot get married (which leaves room for them to assault and rape little choir boys and that is very common in the Catholic church). Nuns cannot get married either and must remain "pure" for God, which is not what the Bible says at all.

There are a LOT of differences between Christianity and Catholicism. I'd rather not get into it on here, but while they follow the "same religion," there are a lot of aspects in Catholicism that take weird turns and have rituals that don't follow Christianity. I know this because my sister and her family is Catholic, even though my parents and I are Christian. We rarely agree on anything in the religion aspect. Also, the Catholics have changed the Ten Commandments in the bible to suit their needs of worshipping the saints and their little "idols." And that is egregious in a true Christian's eyes.

Not to be rude or anything but uh... you’re wrong about the fact that Catholics worship their saints and idols. That’s a huge stretch from the truth really lol. I’m not Catholic but I grew up in a catholic school soooooo. Might want to recheck your facts before stating them lol ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

First of all, Catholics pray to the Virgin Mary, which does not follow Christianity and it also breaks the Ten Commandments. Catholics also show devotion to the saints, aka the disciples of Jesus, which also goes against the Ten Commandments. You literally have statues of the saints (and the Virgin Mary) for veneration, which is actually idolatry even though Catholics don't consider it as such. I mean, they even changed that commandment in of the Bible to get away with it. That's a fact if you want to look it up.

Might want to recheck your knowledge of the faith despite only going to Catholic school and not being a Catholic. It's like a kid going to a Christian school and not actually being a Christian. You may know some stuff but not everything. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I have been privy to my sister's, her husband's and his family's belief systems shared more than a few times over the course of eight years. I have attended quite a few masses, I have seen how the Catholics worship and who they bow down to (priests, usually), and I can clearly see that Christianity and Catholicism are two very different sides of the same religion, but they are not the same by any means.

But not to be rude or anything. I'm just sharing what I believe from my personal experiences with actual Catholics and while being an actual Christian. Don't mind me!

Yeah in the end there are a lot and I mean A LOT of different branches of Christianity and Catholicism. It gets a little confusing honesty. You go to one place. They may be a certain branch of catholic or whatever, but they follow it definitely compared to the other place and both of them proclaim themselves as true Catholics. Same with Christian places of worship. (I’ve been around many different places as a kid to teen, my fam hops around a lot.) Damn confusing in the end. Honestly I’d say both of you are right in your own ways.
