Why are you confused tho? Gender bender are usually likr this and this manga especially was made to understand that it is ok to be different and people are willing to understand, its their problem, when you said "what the fuck" it sounds negative so it makes sense if people take it negatively

Let me tell you this, I had my fair share of gender bends and I've never came across one that literally has a scene where a person comes out of a cocoon in a whole different gender, mostly because I read those dress crossing ones but still. It seems unrealistic in a setting on modern times when theres no magic present in the story, if the story setting was in a time where magic existed I would have just said "oh ok, seems reasonable" but it doesnt.
