He's not suddenly in love, he just think Shinya's pitful. But really this should be listed as tragedy for the ending, Ryu not only ends up with his rapist but he has to give up on the one he really loves T-T
I think it ended as it should, and unlike many other mangas it addressed the issue of rape and the aftermath of the issue, and the uke even made it clear that he can't forgive him for what he did, but he's going to try to accept him despite the flaws. I think that is the epitome of love to be able to accept the flaws others. Also I don't think he just gave up on the older brother a part of him loves and always will love him, but the feelings he has for Shinya are just stronger. Why are they stronger? I think because Shinya is so broken by his past and still came so openly to him with his feelings and emotions, that it was impossible for Ryuu to ignore.
I think you got the wrong concept of the story. He went out with shinya out of pity. He made it clear that he obviously had feelings for yosh but gave his ‘brother’ a chance because he thought he didn’t feel the same way (I believe) or just because he felt sorry for him. Shinya only liked or loved, Ryuu because he was nice to him and gave him a feeling he never felt before. This story obviously needs way more development but it’s hella obvious that it was rushed. I don’t see how this story addressed issues of rape what so ever considering that the victim didn’t forgive the person and ended up dating them but I guess everyone is entitled to there opinions.
okay to be honest I really really hated who Ryuu ended up with. I know in most yaoi manga that deals with rape, in it the uke will end up with the one who did it and normally I'm okay with it but in this one I could not stand how Shinya suddenly was in love with Ryuu or how Ryuu can just let go of his feeling for Yoshito and forgave Shinya so easily, I know this happens a lot in manga like this but I just could not get in to this manga as much as others that have a similar plot
