I'm pretty sure they were going more high functioning sociopath since it's not like autistic people don't feel emotions, they just struggle with social ques. Sociopaths feel little to no emotion, but in rare cases they can develop intense and often unhealthy feelings for a particular person or group of people.

So Miyako is autistic, right?? Since he isn't capable of comprehending human emotions and has genius abilities. I'm glad he felt them for the first time when he met Tatsuki, i'm happy for them. Those weirdass schemes just made the story fun to read!!
