Hahaha, this is quite the late reply. In the 1st timeline, it was dojin's fate to die early in yellow dragon's world. He would then return to his own world and continue to live his own life (marry, have kids, die of old age). There was no hope for their paths to cross again, cuz you can't bring back the dead. So Yellow dragon kept turning back time to the moment they would meet. Toward the end, Dojin again died and returned to his world. So neither him nor yellow dragon could meet. So they choose to wait and meet in the afterlife.
When Dojin says Yellow Dragon is the one waiting for him and not vice versa....it just hit me. Seeing that both our MCs are ppl of different worlds, their paths were never meant to cross and even if they did cross, separation was inevitable due to the above reason. To meet again, no matter how powerful yellow dragon was, was impossible. Hence, he could only turn back time. So if while living they couldn't be together, then only in death could they be together. Once I realized this, I sobbed like a baby. I knew what was going to happen and I wasn't sure if I was ready for the following pages. I wanted the emperor to spend time with Dojin's niece and sister. For Dojin to meet with the other animal spirits and spend his days with yellow dragon at the restaurant...
But once I saw how happy they were when they held hands, I thought, for them, just being able to be together was enough. They knew they had to make sacrifices, and they did. I'm sobbing again.
