Someone mentioned that that was his plan cause he and Navier are infertile cause they ate poison as kids and that's how that affected them. Like that's fucked up and all but you should really be telling your wife that shit and don't just assume she'll understand?? Plus the kid in Trashta isn't even the emporer's either

Navier doesn’t know she’s “infertile” but he didn’t tell her they ate the abortion cookies (his mom was trying to give them to his fathers concubine and he didn’t know so him and Navier ate them) SPOILERS: basically in the novel and from what I read. The baby isn’t his and he is the infertile one not Navier. Navier accepts the divorce and gets immediately remarried to prince Heinley (sorry if I spelled it wrong) I didn’t read it all but from I do know Trashta dies eventually and they find out the baby isn’t his and The emperor is depressed and in despair ? That’s all I know
when he said it will be your baby it almost seemed like he planned to just use rashta as a breeder so he and the queen could raise the kid
