He’s emotionally unavailable, has no empathy for her feelings, hides things from her, is constantly berating her, makes fun of her insecurities, makes decisions for her, like pretty much lending her to another man, and is emotionally withholding.
Shibata is obviously a very insecure woman and her behavior tends to flow into hysterics, but he reenforces her insecurities with his actions and words.
I don’t get this neglect kink in Japanese Manga. How the notion that a cold, emotionally distant man is somehow romantic and that this kind of relationship is somehow emotionally fulfilling.
Most of their relationship has been Shibata’s desperate cries for affection and while Shunnin is not really a bad guy, I feel the both of them need serious therapy to get over their terrible codependency.
Oh I agree there haha. Wholeheartedly and it is an odd kink. I think it's more for the fans who like drama as it usually dissolves when the couple honestly confront each other. All in all, to have clarity on what's right and wrong is good so thank you for pointing it out
It is highly complex and simple. Shuunin isn't being clear with his own emotions but being approached head on by Nagano (sp?) In such an earnest and straightforward way was reciprocated with respect. Although his emotions were fraying, his confidence lies in the sole fact that he is loved. BUT he also doubts because he recalls all their little spats which he uses in replace of affection at times. Same with Shibata. She loves her idiot and may say mean things but the situations where she thinks she'll just leave have her recount the relationship in its entirety. Love is a beast not many commit to but when you do, its wild!
