well, banana fish is one of the greatest manga/anime of all times, so having this new manhwa compared to banana fish is quite cool and somewhat an honour if i might add. and i believe that most of us are not comparing both works we're just here to cure our banana fish syndrome, literally lol. i mean who isn't still traumatized by the ending of banana fish !!
Nah, a lot of other yaois/manhwas have protagonists with black hair and blonde hair, ai no kusabi & legs that won't walk for example, it's just that the main leads of this manhwa specifically do resemble ash and eiji.
Ash is smart, good with guns, brave, plunges into fights without considering the consequences, and is haunted by the fact that he kills people and so is Max. They even have the same gaze and the same hair style. On the contrary, eiji is soft, caring, calm, somewhat brave but not very smart too lol and so is Chris. So yeah the main lead characters do look alike.
omg haven't heard the name ai no kusabi in a hot minute. nice examples. and i'm not denying the fact that the characters look alike (bc they really do lol). it just gets kind of tiring when these two original characters get compared endlessly to another pair of original characters. i've noticed the same happen in the comment section of deadlock as well. but you're on point about the hairstyle lmao. ig it all comes down to how people choose to view things.
i thought the comparison would be brought up like once or twice, but majority of this comment section is literally just "ash & eiji." imagine if you were an author, working on designing your own unique characters, only to have them constantly compared to others? idk if it's just me that finds this kind of annoying lmao.
