I actually have a theory, I think that concubines perfume has something to do with how much the ml likes her, in previous chapters you can clearly see that the ml was just THIS close to rejecting the concubines words, demands or whatever, but once the ml got closer he kinda like snapped out of reality and went into a trance.. Also the fact that the concubine brings that perfume everywhere is suspicious. Its only a silly theory I came up with though haha ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

It could be an aphrodisiac but in the first timeline he truly loved her. She is the only one who could calm him down when he has panic attack due to his trauma. Even after he learns the truth about the wicked things she is done to framed Petronilla, he just said 'yeah sure, it's all in the past anyway'
In the trial when people throwing their insult and rage at dethroned Rosemond
'Lucio, who was observing her countenance, felt his insides being burned down. Even though she had committed acts that were too heinous for words, she was the woman that he had truly loved with all of his heart at one point'

In the second timeline yes he will love the MC and vice versa.
In the first timeline, Lucio and Rosemond had sad childhood, and Rosemond was from a lowly family, he believed he truly loved Rosemond, maybe he has this victim mentality that they're a main character in tragic love story, maybe it reminded him of his real mother, his father the Emperor love his real mother but because oh her lowly origin, he couldn't even do anything when the Empress took Lucio from his beloved concubine and drove her away thus Lucio had prejudice against the First Wife, and Petronilla begging for his love and not hiding her jealousy toward Rosemond remind him of the Empress, and regarded her as a thorn, but after he finally get rid of the throne, that burning love died down so easily.
In the second timeline however Patrizia didn't even have a slightest interest in Lucio, so he couldn't play that tragic sad ass love story card. You could see in the beginning, he is taken aback when he told Patrizia not to expect love from him and Patrazia just calmly accepted all the bullshit he is saying or even when he ask Patrizia to give Rosemond a noble title, Patrizia didn't make a fuss and granted him anything he asked, or when Patrizia fall down and cry alone, he clenched his fist cause she didn't behave in the way he expected, he has prejudice that the the First Wife is evil and all but when all that proved wrong, he realized he didn't truly loved Rosemond, it was a mix of longing, needs and pity.
Sorry... But i don't really like the ml... This is the first time that i don't like the male lead.. But well it's still ongoing, many things will happen. Just don't like him for now cuz he's such a fool to love a btch like her...
