Well you can think of it like this. Monkeys can be considered our genetic cousin, but that doesnt mean there arent tribs/ppl hunting them for food and possibly fur/hair.

There are intelligent animal, but there are also reg beast animals. If we consider your way of thinking everyone would be a vegetarian because it could be considered catabolism.

We humans wouldn't eat each others (lol some tribes do) but beasts do.

Well, they are not the same level as humans, they can't talk, they don't have 100% DNA matching humans. Sooo

Well the horses in this that pull the carrages cant talk also they look like our horses. They arent humanoid shapes like other humanoid beasts.

Same for reg birds and other reg animals who cant speak and have reg animal bodies. Sooo most likely they dont have 100% gene matching with thier humanoid beast counterparts.
