I know two that aren’t exactly historical but do have some of that palace/emperor/past life deal that mixes in modern day... Keeper of the Pearl and Tale of the Yellow Dragon

Lots of people in the comment section have been comparing this to Painter of the
Night & Silent Lovers, both of which are historical. Though I can only see similarity only on the possessive seme thing...
Where the Wind Blows & To Take An Enemy's Heart seem to be good, both by the same author & I think they're definitely worth checking out.
and then there's Two Souls, a shounen ai that someone recently uploaded.
Also Flowers Under the Lamplight looks good (does this one have been scanlated or have official an english translation yet? Anybody knows?)
And if you branch out further to Chinese Manhua territory, there are plenty of historical BL too.
