I've always thought that Maki shouldn't have outright refused to try being the uke at some point. Relationships involve a lot of compromise in my opinion. Being the seme shouldn't be about "dominance", because lets face it: ukes can be just as dominant if they choose to be! Sex is a physical connection between two people, and I see no harm in sharing/switching different forms of pleasure with each other from time to time.
