If you had french lessons in school up to graduation, it's quite some amount of time you spend learning the language and it's a pity I wasn't as much of a BL fan as now in my younger days and didn't know how damn much french actually translate and publish prints of BL or even other good mangas not even having an offivial release in english or at least clearly faster in picking up mangas as it seems.
This here already has 4 volumes out in french (/TДT)/

The reason why BL manga rarely gets published in English or have fewer titles compared to French, Spanish, Thailand and Chinese is due to the fact there is a low market ... I know it's sounds strange despite English being one of the most spoken languages but reason why the market is low is because scanlation and illegal websites like this exist (I'm just as guilty as everyone using this site) also retailers don't wanna sell it

To explain things more in detailed, BL has a smaller audience (cuz not everyone is not into it) and the fact people can read manga in websites like this for free, most of them have no plans in buying a copy... even though there are people who are willing to buy, they are only a few :(( that's why it's already hard to sell also that the fact that retailers or bookstores don't want to sell some of them because some BL manga are so explicit which most western book stores aren't open about it compared to other countries..

It's sad though...there still english publishers out there who are licensing a lot of good BL titles such as Renta and Futekiya but the format is only in ebook cuz they don't have spend their budget for the production of physical copies if the manga flops or not

In Taiwan, one publisher just licensed 1700+ titles in the last 3 months of 2020 meanwhile there are only 47 titles for Subline (English publisher) for this year

That's why it's best to support BL publishers like Sublime (they publish most of their work in printed copies) so that they can license more titles and show other publishers that there are readers out there who are interested in the genre

I am actually one of the suckers who buys most of them, that's why I am so sad about it. I got over 1K mangas in print at home, mostly in german and english, I stopped counting after some time.
Naturally, I have a lot in digital format too, though those are only in english funnily, but I still prefer my print copies. Especially hardcovers are so nice, even if they are more expensive and I have to buy them twice because the hardcover doesn't get published first, they just make mangas truly look more like a book, they are books after all. And if they are put into one of those collector boxes it makes me melt with hapiness ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

And on top of that I even have some prints in laguages I can't even read, which I intentionally bought btw. But normally I just flip through them, cause i can't read anything besides English and German...
I wished I had gotten more into mangas earlier, then I could have found some more usage for what I learned about other foreigne languages and probably not forgotten it... Too late for regrets now though. (￣∇￣")

I even bought some in french a few years ago but it was just too difficult to translate when you haven't touched the language for half a decade. It's almost a decade now and so I am in pain. RIP（/TДT)/

Pretty sad Sublime publishes so few, but I did noticed that early on already when I first got aware of them, through them starting to publish the incredible, but seemingly on hiatus forever Sweet Pool and afterwards they didn't release much and worst when releases there overlapped with what germany already released or is releasing rn or is about to release. It makes the chance for variety in the avaiable titles for me even smaller and naturally I am not gonna support them if I already have the manga or can get it through an easier way and cheaper price despite it being a new and not 2nd hand book.
I won't go back to when I supported the same long still ongoing manga series in two languages cause that is tring, especially for print (￣ε￣)

Honestly I actually don't mind digital format (less clutter) but the prices do add up per chapter vs. buying a whole volume, and I especially noticed this for the BL manga that gets converted to webtoon format. I feel like if they should also release the translations into the original page style since the webtoon format actually tends to crop out a lot of the images.

But hey, that's the only way to get at the English speaking audience? ╮(￣▽￣)╭
