To be fairly honest, I thought the relationship between Ryuh wasn't handled that poorly. I don't think we can rule out the Ryuh Han didn't have any romantic feelings for MC. I remember in the first couple of chapters, MC was having a flashback to when Ryuh said he would choose MC over his lover if they were both drowning which, obviously isn't a typical thing to say to just a friend. Relationships aren't 2 colors, but a spectrum. We have no idea what Ryuh is thinking and whether he actually has feelings or not. You have to realize that coming out and being on terms with your feelings also plays a part in a relationship and especially one thing isn't seen as the typical relationship. If we go deeper, Korea is pretty split on LGBTQ relations, so it is probably difficult for anyone to come in terms with this and be open about it. While I do understand that the situation in general could have been handled better, I don't think it was that terrible.
As a character though, I dislike him. If he did develop romantic feelings he pushed them down ,as hes often in relationships. On top of that, in recent chapters, he's been controlling for no reason whatsoever with, like you said, the only justification being he's a friend. I really do think his character could have held improvements, if author was going to make Ryuh Han worry so much about MC, I think it would have made more sense to include something that shows this.
I don't think author meant for this to be a love triangle but, rather a theme of moving on. MC had been in love with Ryuh for a very long time now and can't admit his feelings to him. It's been a one-sided love (from MC's pov, unsure about Ryuh). I can't speak for author, but I think that's where they were going with this, if she had wanted it to be a love triangle, she could have made it clear in the beginning that Ryuh Han was a serious competitor.
This reminds me, I have an English Test tomorrow
Yeah was disappointed with that too and the thing is they could’ve actually made him a actual good friend that still causes drama they could have made it so A ryuh makes the gangster jealous of how close he and mc are and which causes strain on both mc relationships
Or b have it so ryuh stays the same earily on and around the trip chapter ryuh develops feelings so at point it kinda explains his actions or ultimately have ryuh not do anything and just serve as the straight friend crush of mc and that’s it I wouldn’t have been disappointed with those outcomes but that’s my opinion
Okay, I understand where you're coming from, but from what I read (it's coming up soon in chapter 19) they had a talk about their relationship and it's pretty clear the Ryuh Han has absolutely no romantic feelings towards MC. He was basically like "I'm your best friend so of course I'm gonna be worried about you hanging out with a gangster!" And then MC had a realization that Ryuh Han never viewed him romantically and that he was just imagining it all before. That's literally in his monologue.
And your point about Ryuh Han saying that he would choose MC over his lover is exactly why I thought it was strange that he really only viewed him as just a friend. It could be that he's trying to play it off, but honestly there aren't any signs of that. When MC and ML are all lovey dovey later in the comic, he's not jealous one bit and acts how a normal friend would act.
I do agree that the author probably wanted to make it about the MC moving on from his feelings, but I think it was still done rather poorly. They had ONE conversation that lasted like 6 panels and suddenly he was over him. I think it should've been more of a process than just wham bam thank you ma'am, oh we're bff's so I don't like you that way any more. Perhaps Ryuh Han was never a viable ML, but I think there could've been a smoother transition in their relationship, not just him ignoring him half the time to suddenly being possessive to being all buddy buddy with him. That's just my opinion though ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Lol good luck on the English test
Yeah you're probably right, if author had wanted Ryuh Han to have feelings but not be able to say them they would've added a few scenes that would have described that. Ig the only thing that's really weird to me is the scene when he says he'd choose MC over his lover. I totally get it though, for right now it's just a friendship and I really do think author should've provided more justification on why he's acting the way he is. Istg my English teacher has forever scarred me, her analysis question are going to be forever engraved into my head.

Ryuh Han's relationship with the MC... well, I don't think the author handled it well at all. I completed it and was honestly disappointed at how things went. I understood why the author did what they did, but it still felt... kinda lame.
Basically, Ryuh Han NEVER had any sort of romantic feeling towards MC. Any "jealous" moments that you see? That's him "being a good friend" and worrying about him befriending/dating a gangster.
So the author chalked it up to MC having delusions about Ryuh Han leading him on and it gets resolved so quickly it left me reeling. Guess what? All those times before he wasn't leading him on! He was just being a shitty 'best' friend!
The author probably wanted to go this route so they could redeem Ryuh Han but... c'mon, really? I don't even know if its a valid excuse. There were no signs of this at all! The reasonings provided were so flimsy: if he's so worried about his friend, why didn't he show it before? Why was it only when ML came around??? Did the author want to make a plot with a love triangle but decided last minute that she didn't want Ryuh Han to be the bad guy? Is that it???
