I agree that the final arc was pretty much rushed and messed up. But Sindbad had to be part of it. After watching it over and over, I understood that it was meant from the very beginning, or at least somewhat there, that Sindbad would be the villain. I never liked him, he was too fishy, but then I understood why after reading the manga. He was already half fallen, and since he got his first djinn, he used his power to force other people to do what he want. Like how he forced Spartos father, the King, for example. He had to be a villain at the end, because in truth he was it from the very beginning. Always scheming, calculating, and forcing others... I just wanted to understand how much it really came from him, and how much from David. Did David manipulate him that much, or was he already like this? Not sure about it. I just felt sorry for Jafar. Even though he noticed how much Sindbad changed, he was still thankful to him.
It’s so fucking annoying when a manga is consistently good for 5+ arcs and then the final arc just fucks it all up and shit all over the world building and development made in the previous chapters.
Why was Sinbad a staple in the final arc when he’s a staple in his own fucking manga. The writing and execution for the final arc was subpar considering how fucking amazing the previous arcs have been. Sinbad really wasn’t an interesting character to watch develop in the final arc and his reasons for stirring up conflict are utter bullshit.
It seems like Ohtaka Shinobu rushed to throw a bunch of bullshit together and called it a final arc. Even the art could be considered bad in comparison to the other arcs. I wouldn’t be surprised if she came up with this while taking a literal shit.
Magi isn’t terrible by any means. It’s definitely a great shounen with a unique premise and a rather interesting world. All of that is just thrown down the drain when we’re served this piece of dog shit on a golden platter. We’re given no time to adapt to the new world. The old world was so interesting and I loved everything about it, but I’m supposed to abandon that for this pseudo advanced new word that Sinbad has created. I can definitely appreciate it and I still love it. Just fuck the final arc and Sinbad.
