I’m so sick and mcfucking tired of people calling BL fetishization of gay men.

I’m so sick and mcfucking tired of some people’s dumbass uneducated bullshit. Read some fucking articles or use common sense.

No one calls it yaoi for one. It’s all BL, boys love, regardless if there’s porn or not it’s still BL. Yaoi is a term popularized by people who either want to shit on it or are western. No one in Japan ever calls it yaoi/shounen ai.

Fujoshi/Fudanshi does mean someone who likes BL. Just that though, it doesn’t mean a fetishizer.

People in Japan are completely okay with this. It’s been around for decades. I don’t think they give a shit anymore. The only people who hate it and don’t have a neutral/good opinion about it are homophobic bitches.

No, it’s not fetishization. Sure, objectifying in some ways but stories with porn is always like that. BL is just a story about two dudes falling in love, sometimes fucking and sometimes it’s well represented and sometimes it’s not. It’s the same with all media regardless of the characters sexuality. Just like how women (in certain stories) in media somehow end up fucking the mafia leader and falling in love even though he kidnapped her. Awfully represented.

Yes, some people jack off to it and I personally don’t feel comfortable with that image but it’s still not fetishization. It’s just a dude who’s jacking off. If a guy can jack off to a dude who looks like a girl (cis guy who looks like a girl, a femboy I guess) and women can jack off to wlw then what’s the issue? Lesbians can watch gay porn, straights can watch gay, gays can watch lesbian porn.

What’s the line for fetishization? People pushing their opinions/expectations on people and not being able to differentiate between fiction and reality. BL is literally just a queer story about two men falling in love and whatever the fuck sub genre is added to it. Nothing is bad about it. People read furry shit and yet we haven’t called them out on their beastiality bullshit have we?

Hate the readers who do it, not the material. The only people fetishizing gay men are the readers who do so. We really need to detach ourselves from this dumbass bullshit of children who are beyond underage representing the whole community. They shouldn’t even be on here in the first place in all honesty. I understand a shitton of you guys are underage and sometimes and you can’t stop kids from being curious fucks but this should be more restricted.

Just something to be added, feel free to categorize yaoi as that or whatever. Not shaming it since it does help me sort out which has porn and which is more fluff/plot. I also might be wrong some shit but point stays. BL isn’t fetishization.

Also, I don’t know if this is technically manga related so I guess read Penthouse XXX or something. It’s a good story.

Hi! Personally, I don't think that I care about how people think of this topic, but you should keep in mind to respect it and not apply these concepts in real life to real people, it's fine to have your own opinions, just keep them to yourself.
Also read Nomi x Shiba, it's awesome, the two characters are super cute, read it.<333

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK PLEASE!!!

i strongly agree with you on the whole fetishizing thing. some make a stand to say that bl is good since it opens the mind of ppl to homosexuality (which is good btw), while others are opposed to it saying its just fetishizing homosexual men. i just feel like people nowadays are so quick to see the negative that they themselves radiate negative vibes.

PLUS ive also been saying this to people who post topics here asking "is reading yaoi fetishizing?" that IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR INTENTION WHY YOURE READING YAOI period!

I've seen so many Tiktoks of people shitting on the people who read "yaoi" instead of "shounen ai". Them literally saying it's fetishizing because of the explicit scenes. I tried helping them educate themselves by dropping articles about how it's ALL bl, but honestly most people refuse to accept that

Bro, i literally refreshed my page now wut I wrote is gone.

ANyways, basically I'm a bisexual girl, and I've been reading Bl manga's a little over a year already. Keep in mind I was already bisexual before reading. I guess the big problem is that I'm questioning weather I'm a gay fetishizer since I enjoy reading Bl mangas, but I'm a female. My point in writing this is not to ask whether my being a bisexual justifies me reading Bl manga's since I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community, since that would just be proving that I'm actually a fetishizer who's seeking validation of my fetishizing. Instead I'm writing this to vent since I can't really talk about this to no one in person.

ANyways, I'm sort of beginning to question whether I'd like to identify as male, or become non-binary, which wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't a bisexual girl who happens to read Bl stories. What I'm saying is that I don't know my true intentions in this big change. Am I questioning whether I should transition to a male just because I feel uncomfortable with my current body and woulf feel so much better as a male? Or is it because I happen to read Bl manga and I want to live the gay life that I read online. Honestly this scares me.
