Hm yeah..
Grace was the very first person Julia lied to about the supposed pregnancy. She did that because she wanted to use Grace as an unwitting pawn to help her trap Matteo into marriage (by being able to say "Even my friend knew already, SEE? So it is definitely true!"). That means that Julia cared more about money and status, then she did about her "friendship" with Grace. Therefore, there is absolutely no reason for Grace to "honor" that friendship by staying away from Matteo.
