I'm thinking the same thing. I didn't dislike the idea of having a queen because as much as we want to, Shin cannot bare an heir which needed for the prosperity of the empire. But I doubt Wolfgang will allow that seeing how gay he is to Shin.┗( T﹏T )┛
Yes concidering that this is not a historically accurate comic but a shounen ai written for straight girls I would predict the same. But they could do something similar to "the female knight".
Before mariage was seen more as an economical/political union tather than one of love. Interestingly enough it was common that booth spouses cheated (due to the bastards weren't viewed as heirs). A queen could have the roll of the straight best friend or even be a contrast with a gay queen and her adventures.
