It's frustrating isn't it? I'm so glad I read the novel after it was finished translating. I had to binge read the entire thing in one sitting BECAUSE I WAS SO MAD. I just had to read Rose dying before I could sleep peacefully lol

I think if you ask different people, you'll get different answers. It entirely depends. I liked the novel and it was an enjoyable read. I found the ending more satisfying and better than Abandoned Empress (I was soooo close to dropping Abandoned Empress, and still hate it to my core).

The pacing of the novel is pretty good tbh. Rose hangs in there and boy is she annoying, but after the trial, she and Lucio are no longer a thing. And once rose loses Lucio's favor, it's game over for Rose. I think what made the novel good to read is bc Rizi. She has a goal and she is determined to complete that goal. If you try to read this for romance, don't. Not only is it slow burn, Rizi doesn't accept Lucio's love until maybe the last 5 chapters. There's hardly any sweet scenes between them. However, I enjoyed the ending bc considering where Rizi came from, it made sense for her to act cold to Lucio until the very end. Their relationship isn't a typical romance, which i liked.

I love this kind of story. But since the translator dropped it, it's better to read the whole novel to know the ending. Overall the novel is better. <3

Dropped this because the translator dropped it. Yeah, I love the novel more and since I can imagine the face of each characters in the manhwa, the novel is more thrilling. xD
