He only privately begged Rizi not to sentence Rose to death. But note, he only asked Rizi not to kill Rose ONCE. Rizi brings up killing Rose to Lucio 3 times and Lucio silently accepted it. During the trial when Rizi brings up the false evidence, she makes direct eye contact with Lucio, daring him to contradict her, but Lucio stays absolutely silent. Not once does Lucio commands or contradict Rizi's will. The only reason Rose lasts as long as she does in the novel is because of Duke Ephreney. If she didn't have the backing of the most powerful family, Rizi would've beheaded Rose at this trial. Lucio did not and would not have stepped in to save her.

I can't stand Pussio behavior! He's such a weak bastard. He's the main reason why Patricia suffering not Rosebitch. Why? Because he let her be and torment innocent people and his wife.
