The current trajectory down which this story is heading has made me reconsider whether or not reading another lezhin engineered body of work is worth it..

Yours to Claim is essentially a spin on BJ Alex type of BL; the seme walks all over the uke and the uke has no self respect. In spite of everything he's faced at the hands of the seme he STILL ends up in a relationship with him, and you can clearly see she's just putting the likeable seme, Cain, in as a way to create motivation for Yahwi, similarly to BJ Alex, where a friend was razzle dazzled in to spark jealousy.

I'm tired, we're tired, can they please stop making identically formulated works and change it up a little because watching ukes with the same bland, self-pitying personalities make the same decisions in, at-first, promising works is pretty fucking annoying

Yours to Claim and A Guy Like You were actually created by the same author Great observation on your part, there's definitely parts which mirror her previous work

I tbh the uke spoke up in this one and isn't letting himself be walked all over as you said, but that's my opinion. He told the man he isn't a prostitute and gave him all his money back, basically told him "I'm not your little bi- here's your money, boi bye" while in most they'll over think everything and stay with him and suddenly cry while getting it on

I'd agree with your POV if I hadn't seen some of the raws. Give it some time for them to be translated, they'll be having sex again.

Honestly speaking I hv several points to raise abt ur opinion tho it's ur opinion so I m not criticizing u at all please remember that when u r reading my comment.
Tho bj alex and mangas similar to it def exit but other different mangas remain too so y not just read them if u can't stand this type of stories.
Plus stories like these are instead more focused on the object of character development instead, which u can clearly see in bj alex. Alex improved in his behavior so much in the story that it only makes sense to forgive him. Plus here, I think sunbae literally doesn't know how to behave when actually he cares alot so let's give him sometime to improve his communication skills. I think these types of stories are more realistic then others to be honest.... Just my opinion

I love hearing the other side of the coin and I respect your opinion too!

When I was writing my comment the stories I had in mind were very similar stories specifically created in Lezhin. I start off by reading them because the story does look very promising at first, both from the visual and the written aspect, which is something I stated in my comment, but as it progressed the characters failed to live up to my expectations and I'm on the verge of giving up. Let's use this manga as an example: this uke was seemilgy a bit more defiant than his predecessors, so what I'd expected is that he'd have some self respect and try to distance himself from Yahwi, which I learned is not the case. I thought it would be the type of a story I like, which is why I read it, and it turned out not to be one. It's rather frustrating when you expect some sort of a change in writing just to end up with the same thing.

I'll have to respectfull disagree with the idea that this story is more realistic, because the "bad boys" wouldn't win if the story were to transpire in real life, no matter the character development. I think that's partly why I'm so disappointed; we have Cain who's extremely nice, attentive and attempts to be communicative in spite of the language barrier and then we have Yahwi, the cold tsundere type people would be turned off by, especially if they were treated like Jooin. I can somewhat see how he would forgive Alex since there was no actual rival but it this story it just makes no sense to me, considering Cain's existence.

Also, I do read plenty of the stories I like! The artwork draws me to these and I find it to be a shame when it's wasted on such a mediocre story.

That's a pretty detailed explanation(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ but I will have to say this one thing... I don't find this story mediocre because I m expecting great character development and I love stories with character development. Like it's so satisfying to see people change for the better for the sake of someone. And I find the whole idea really beautiful like it's healing UK. The amount of good people is increasing so how can it be a bad thing.

Like u said that yawhi is the bad guy who is a cold tsundere which can be turn off but I think he is trying to be as nice as he can help it. Honestly he might really be giving the money for taxi fare who knows we don't know his side of story yet. He might just be really that bad at expressing his feelings so he says that it's none of ur business which sounds cold. So in this case if the MC gives up on him, don't u think it would be sad for him.

And abt the existence of a good guy like cain, I personally dislike Overly friendly people ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ so maybe that's y I m not rooting for him can't help it I m an introvert after all.

I tried to explain my thoughts as much as possible, I hope I didn't overdo it!

Imo one if the reasons why I consider it mediocre is because of the way it's going about character development. We've seen a lot of the same plots and same character development and the writing isn't exceptional either so in the sea of the same stories it just doesn't stand out from a "lyrical" standpoint. It's obviously very pretty but I find the dialogue to be too common for it to not fall under the mediocre umbrella.

It would be sad! But that's my point, the ukes are too comfortable in their misery that they don't want to step away from it and liberate themselves. Jooin isn't happy, this experience is very hard on him. He's obviously not having fun so him getting stuck in a toxic loop isn't ok with me, especially since this is a cliché so overused in yaoi that you can go to any story and find it in some shape or form. And from what I've seen in the raws someone posted, Yahwi just ups the abusive the further Yours to Claim progresses.

What Yahwi does is actually defined as a form of emotional abusive. He gives attention whenever he needs something from him, ropes him into this one-sided relationship and then stonewalls him until they have sex. It's not a normal behavioural pattern or a communication problem. It's actually an extremely common characteristic of a narcissist. If you were to find yourself in a situation where you had to choose between a talkative polite man and somebody who treats you like utter shit whenever you meet up I'm sure you'd pick the former.

No u didn't over do it. It's better to explain ones point properly then leading anyone to misunderstandings.

Yes I would definitely choose the former cus I would feel the safest with him duh! But like wow ur explanation is making my question my opinion lolololol

I agree abt the one sided relationship point u wrote cus in the manga the times yahwi should hv followed and supported jooin he ignored the situation and jooin all together, like when they all accused jooin of 'the confession'. I was pretty angry abt this part. Like (」゚ロ゚)」ᴺᴼᴼᴼ~

But UK I don't blame or dislike him and complain much abt this behavior is mostly because it's just a manga in the end where jooin is letting all of this happen to him. Like normally people would push away such rude people immediately. That might also be one of the reasons I support yahwi and not cain. The author showed jooin as a pushover here and yahwi as a cool taundere...
