i see a lot of people calling shin selfish or stupid for pushing their potential relationship aside at every turn. but thats selling him short. hes devoted his whole life to wolfgang, and this is no different. what shin is, is afraid. afraid that his feelings will lead him to do something that will hurt his king or cause his king to make bad decisions, because he loves wolfgang. look at the expression on his face when wolfgang is telling him why he had to rescue him. wolfgang isnt supposed to choose shin, hes supposed to choose his country. thats why i appreciated the scene where wolfgang told him he can make mistakes and stop suffering alone even more than if it had been a direct love confession. wolfgang is conveying to him that their love is a possibility, that he can let go of some of this fear and wolfgang will catch him. but of course, i dont think shin is completely ready yet. lets go season three!
