I'm gonna fucking lose it if they die. I'm still traumatized by what happened with Haru wo Daiteita Alive. I can't take losing another couple of a series I've been following for years

What happened with Haru wo daiteita was really, really, sad. It happened so suddenly like if someone wanted to give it a closure (whatever it was) and don't give a fuck on fans and reliability.

Nobody saw it coming because it had no business getting a tragic ending in the 1st place. The 1st series ended peacefully and happily and Alive made it seem like it was majorly gonna be about Iwaki coming to terms with being a dad. It's as if in the middle of writing the sequel, Youka Nitta suddenly thought it was a great idea to kill off the main characters. There was no damn point to it but a gut-punch to people who've read and loved a 23 year old series. I'm still so livid about it.

I guess it was not Nitta's choice but her publisher's. A bad idea imho cause if they wanted to promote Spare Key (Yousuke's story) it would have been better ways to do that. After what happened I lost any interest in whatever story related to them (like the spin off Spare Key).

The publisher's? Was it really? I always thought it was her personal decision 'cause when I called her out on twitter for that terrible ending, her assistant blocked me so I assumed it was something she was firm on doing. Same, it would've been nice to see Yousuke's story because I liked him but that ending ruined any interest I would've had. I only hope Youka and her team have been made aware of the magnitude of distaste the readers especially the japanese ones have towards how she ended the series. To that end I'm lowkey even hoping Spare Key would flop.

Since mangas are products to sell, publishers are always involved in deciding if a story must be ended or not. At least, this is what I think. I don't know if you are aware there is a scene in Spare Key that ruined the mood completely to many fans (Yousuke finds Iwaki sleeping and he remembers when Iwaki gave him a handjob when he was still a kid). This was so disgusting to me that it left me with no words. TT TT

Wtf omg I kinda remember there was an extra about Iwaki teaching Yousuke about puberty and then it was alluded that Iwaki might've done something but to think that it's now confirmed that he really did touch his nephew in law I-

Yeah! That scene was related to that extra. Trying to 'teach' how it is to do it by himself, Iwaki gave his nephew a handjob. It ruined Iwaki's character to me.

After all that talk about how Yousuke was like a son to him. Youka's team apparently wasn't satisfied with just killing him off, they also had to ruin his character when he was alive. What a mess. Shame how literally everything went to shit. I like to pretend everything past the 1st series doesn't exist but all this is just reminding me of the time AND money I wasted on hwd.

I bought some ebooks of HWDI too. This is not fair TT TT. Yeah, it went downhill and she killed not only Iwaki but also the affection many of us had for him. She tried to justify why Yousuke had a crush on Iwaki using those means. I felt so bad.
