The thing is they probably didn't do penetration but other stuffs, and for Moonkyul, his definition of sex = penetration

Ooh this is interesting!! I haven't read this in a while (although I have read it multiple times) and I remember Mookyul saying to Ewon something along the lines of "It's not the same [as our relationship]" WHAT I interpreted from this was that with the chairman, Mookyul was the uke, and ofc not the same feelings as between our main couple, hence why to Mookyul it was different from his relationship with Ewon.
Love reading different viewpoints. The one about non penetrative sex is interesting! I can defo see Mookyul not considering it sex so he doesn't feel the need to justify to Ewon.

agree, i really love this manhwa i even want to reread again especially after got the webtoon series but whenever i remember about they relationship i just back down and don't want to read again, it's just pissed me off

Ikr. Mookyul only said that 'its not the same' or something and its so vague and I interpreted it like they didn't really did sex and he just doesn't like to justify or explain it to Ewon. All these years thats what I thought then when i read the comment section, I was shocked that the readers said that Mookyol and Chairman did it!!(⊙…⊙ )

If my understanding was right, you got the backstory about the Chairman and Mookyul from the author's note (confirmed by the author).

I haven't read Sangchul's Diary cause the fans doesn't lile it and their opinions affected me.

I... Dont know what to feel after reading all this. Specially the fact (since it's proven with this) that Mookyul had done sexual things with the Chairman although I'm kinda glad they didn't do any penetrative sex, but still... Just imagine the age gap, and Mookyul was so young.

Anyway, I'm just happy for them that it all ended well and good.

I think this information was very much needed... I also find myself continually returning to read this heartwarming yet painfully beautiful story.

So even at 17, Mookyul and Chairman don't actually do it. Kinda glad to hear haha. I should read Diary of Sangchul now.

I don't really like reading comments about something that I haven't read yet, but I remembered starting Totally Captivated back when it was still being serialized (the manga) and I was scared to dive in because I felt like it would touch some serious triggers. I didn't remember why, but it was like this weird déjà vu. After seeing so many people complain about those two characters, I was scared about a potential cheating arc, which is probably one of the worst things I could encounter in a story—I just can't handle them, trust and loyalty in a main couple are essential to me.

Turns out it can be explained by a fucked-up background that, judging by what you said, was also very well handled by the author. It made me curious.

So, I can't thank you enough for writing this. In stories like this one, going in with a little bit of inside intel can do wonders for your enjoyment of the story and your personal character and situational analysis. Since I was a teenager when I first read some of this and I don't really remember much about it, I'll brave it and see if its popularity is worth it. Thanks again!

omg thank you for the explanation! usually I would never read a long ass essay but I feel like I had to know what actually happened between them(to satisfy my curious ass).now I feel a little bit better knowing that they didn't actually do the penetrative sex.but I still feel disgusted with what they did considering their age gap and all..
