For those who wanted to continue this manhua, I would suggest to read the novel instead as it already has 2000+ chapters.
Plot is phenomenal, it might be slow paced and some might felt it's boring but it would definitely be paid off as the author included a lot of foreshadowing. Unlike other xianxia/wuxia novels that gets repetitve, every arc has different themes, story, and goal.
World building is well-written. Gu world is a great concept and it was perfectly executed by the author. I love the way the author had shown how "luck" and "love" work in the story. It even tackled how the heavens work and its goal. With those concept in mind, it's rare to see any deus ex machina used in the story. Gu world is well established and consistent throughout the story.
THE MC!!! What ultimately made me love this story sm is our God yuan. I've seen lots of lawful evils in many mediums and platforms but he is the first neutral evil I encountered. He's unpredictable and predictable at the same time, unpredictable as how he deals with any situation he came across, crafty and evil, predictable as how he has only one goal in mind which is eternal life. I love the way he process his thoughts and his mentality thus friendship, romance, sex, pleasure, or any unnecessary things that are not essential to his goal were obliterated right off the bat. THE MOST RATIONAL MC EVER (imo)
Writng is good although it gets redundant at times.
Most of the characters are well-written, they have their own goal, motivation, story, and mindset. Most of them are not dumb and easy so when some of them clash with mc it would automatically result in MIND GAMES.
This is not for everyone though, if you're not impartial or hates/dislikes evil mcs then you're not gonna enjoy it as it was banned in china with undisclosed reasons. Some speculated it is due to the dark contents deemed dangerous literature to Chinese netizens, the criticising of the system and government, etc.
