The bastard child of Cornered Mouse and Chikuwa Kaigi

I know this manga was published earlier (1996) than both (2006 & 2014). The vibe it gives me is like a mixture of Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese (+its sequel) and 40x40 Chikuwa Kaigi. But in this manga all the relationships are kinda open relationship. The female characters know whom their boyfriends fucc and the main male characters have feeling for each other yet they're dating a woman. It's a huge mess.

It wants to portray the difference between 恋 (koi) and 愛 (ai). This web simply explains the difference of those kanjis: thoughtco.com/japanese-words-for-love-2028042 and here we have another insight from our fellow reader about koi & ai http://www.mangago.zone/home/mangatopic/1092951/

There's a funny aspect in this manga. You can see physically and a bit of psychologically Reiko resembles Fujio (Ei) meanwhile Miku resembles Yamazaki (Ken). Those with lighter hair have more twisted personality compared the darker haired. And both Fujio and Reiko are more firm with their decision compared to Yamazaki and Miku in vol. 2—3.

If you want to understand this manga better, you can read those two I mentioned above. Or you can try read chapter 14 first since it was placed 5 years before the time line. And if you want to be healed from this kind of messy relationship please go to Rutta to Kodama (lighter mood) or Yuki to Matsu (heavier mood).

The title 恋が僕等を許す範囲 can be translated as: The Extent to which Love Allows Us. Love here is 恋 (koi) aka the major theme for this manga.
