You shouldn't let it stop you! The younger generations are way less racist, and as a partly asian person, i gotta tell ya, asia is the most racist place in the world, it baffles me, but at the same time it's not out of a place of hate (unless towards other asians but that's a whole other can of worms, us pinoys have always been considered slutty in asia because of our well... larger feminine features) it's more of xenophobia, asia has always been far more closed off than the rest of the world, and the only way to fix it is to get more racial diversity up in there! Plus the thing about light skin and beauty in asia is because in ye olden days, having tan skin meant you were poor because they had to stay out in the sun, that being said there will be racist people no matter where you go, so might as well raise a middle finger and go where you want!

(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ thank you so much for the encouragement I am still planning to move to Japan. I don't think that living in America is going to be safe for a lot of minorities because of how violent and systemic the racism is. So I think moving is the best idea for me. It might be the opposite for others though.
It's more of this idea of preparedness than anything. hearing your story makes me feel more prepared and hopeful? Thank you and I'll be ready to fight any racists that comes at me (๑•ㅂ•)و✧.

I get it’s a story but why is black skin be referred to as something negative and then instead of showing hey it’s not different from you guys (because it’s not) they change her. This is wrong, I’m so sorry to anyone else who feels belittled by this.
